Kit, a rural Canadian transplant, currently lives in the Bay Area, California with her husband and two dogs, Pancake and Pablo. She enjoys creating things in her spare time, such as: crafting piñatas for special events, coming up with business ideas that go nowhere, making fake Wayne Gretzky inspirational quotes, chefing mean meals and attempting to mix music.

As a Designer

Simplicity and practicality are two words Kit works with when it comes to visual communication design. She deconstructs objects, visuals, and processes and imagines how to make them function more effectively—naturally gravitating towards the words of author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: “Perfection is achieved when there is nothing left to take away.” Being an empath and emotional designer, she is able to relate to and understand the intended audience as she places herself in the user’s seat. Her personal style integrates humour, colour and whimsy.

Kit has 10 years professional work experience as both an in-house and freelance graphic designer, specializing in branding, logos, print, digital and integrative design. Her in-house experience includes prominent Albertan institutions, such as: The Royal Alberta Museum, The Banff Centre, University of Alberta and the Edmonton Public Library and more recently start-ups in food and beverage with a focus in wellbeing. Her unquenchable curiosity for learning and exploring keeps her moving—whether that be traveling, learning a new skill or finding new projects to collaborate with others on.
